Biere Blonde du Syndicat de Brasserie de Salford Richard Bazen and Dave Facer have brewed a lager-type beer between them. called Cliff Bier at 5.2%. This cask-conditioned light beer was brewed using the types of malt. hops and yeast usually associated with lagers but using a method more akin to traditional real ale. The result is a refreshing summer drink with all the character of a quality lager. Cliff Bier was launched at the Stockport Beer Festival.

Very complex malt flavours form the basis of this multi-grained dark beer. Velvety smooth with a drying fruity hop finish. Knoll's Porter is based on Bridgewater Ales' Delph Porter which won Stockport Beer of the Festival in 1999. Richard has recreated it with the kind permission of Ken Birch who devised the original recipe. The small amount of smoked malt used in the recipe was provided by Dave Facer of Facer's Brewery who took some malt to be smoked locally. near Wilmslow.
